![]() Well no, I have to disagree there. You can play Quake 1 with keyboard + mouse just like the more modern shooters, easy and fast. I'm talking from own experience there. There was this "freelook" or "mouse aim" or something like that option, which allowed you to turn and look to anywhere while steering with arrow keys. So it is definitely not that retro

![]() I still use "ancient" technology.
My laptop: Toshiba Satellite Pro 440CDX Pentium MMX 133 MHz 16 MB RAM 1 USB port CD-ROM drive Surprisingly, the battery is still good, and lasts for about 5 hours. Currently loaded OSes: Damn Small Linux FreeDOS It runs Lemmings, Lemmings 2 and most of my other DOS/Win 3.1 games perfectly.

![]() I'm a proud owner of a Commodore 64! Of course with Archon and Boulder Dash! I even have a matrix printer for it, which gives printouts a very ancient touch

![]() Yeah well they tend to crash often, they are very sensitive to dust and shocks. I owned a "real" C64 once (crashed too), but now its (I got to admit that) a C64 II, which offers exactly the same functions, but not that nice look and a worse SID, with reduced sound quality. Nevertheless it works great scince 1982. Also its kind of difficult to get an "original" C64 in good condition. Mostly on eBay, but then they send it in dusty package and throw it in a mail box - great! Remember what I said about dust and shocks...
Did you do stuff in BASIC btw? |

![]() I had an old windows 95 in my room until 2004. My parents threw it out because "we had better computers"
While i have moved on from it, i still wish i had that computer. |

![]() Not really, I was six years old at the time, I could only load games. Well, at least I grasped the BASICS of ASCII graphics before I knew what it was - I always tried to draw by typing characters. It was fun between two gaming sessions, I still have the 5.2" disks lying around.

![]() Windows 95 is an operating system, not a computer.
My 486 DX4/100 lasted until 2004 too. Until the very day I was reassembling it after a failed hardware upgrade and plugged in the AT power connectors wrong. Ouch. |
