I'm not sure. I run it as I would with any other game on DosBox, and rather than loading I just get a black screen, no sound. Sounds like multiple other people in this thread have had the same issue with it.

what's your OP? What version of DosBox you use? If there is a setup file did you try to set to your configuration?

To be honest I have no idea how to do that stuff, my experience with emulators is not up to par to say the least.

I'm using DosBox-0.63.

There's your problem. That's a really old version of DOSBox.

The game is broken in 0.61-0.63 (well, there's a fix to make it run...).
Upgrade your DOSBox version to 0.74.

0.63 is around 8 years old.
Don't use DOSBox versions this old unless you have a very specific reason to do so..

I have the newest Dosbox version and for a test I just set up a game Computer vs. Computer. The game runned fine (without changing anything neither the cycles or so).

But unfortunately the game freezed as the sorceress was teleporting in a battle against the Phoenix on a dark terrain (her own "home" tile). The first teleports worked without any problem. But then as the Sorceress teleported again the game just freezed. No sound or anything not even a crash the game just stopped and I just had no other choice then closing it by closing Dosbox.

Now I wonder if it might be a bug of the game that it can freeze when the Sorceress is teleporting. Anybody had a freeze too while the sorceress teleported herself?

Edit: Forget about the Sorceress thing. This time I used the archon1.exe instead of the archon.exe and the game freezed again in a Computer vs. Computer battle (Valkyrie vs. Shapeshifter) very early. So it seems its either because the game is so old or it is just my luck again that an interesting game does not work fine for me.
