Default LION

not sure how long this thread has been dead, but i've read through the whole thing and am still having problems.

i get an error that says "hr_hires.c #1.-1"

i'm a little new to DOSbox and all this so i'm completely dumbfounded at the process here, but i think if someone would willingly in a very fluent manner type out all instructions for a newbie, that i could figure this out.

thanks.

Default LION

i got better information here: http://www.dosgames.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10437 but i will give full instructions here so it isn't spread out across this thread.

download DOSbox
download LION

go to computer > local disc c > users > (your name)

in there, create a folder called oldgames or whatever you desire, it doesn't matter.

unpack the lion download exactly to that folder

once done, open up DOSbox, and type in exactly as is typed in each line here

mount c c:\users\yourname\oldgames(or whatever you named the folder for it)

c:
cd lion
LION

it all should be typed in and entered in that order, LION should then start correctly.

hope this helps some people who weren't able to get it running.

On my first day discovering this awesome place I downloaded (full version?) Lion from the ISO Cellar.

Everything appears to be in place, but there's no sound. Did I miss an audio file somewhere? Or was it left out of the download?

Default Save some to-be-chopped heads?

Alright, I'll go chop some heads off soon if this won't start doing what it's supposed to do.

I've tried every trick from the first ten pages and the VISTA-howto page.
However, neither my original game CD, my full-installed original game NOR the downloaded game will work.

My DOSBox 0.73 refuses to believe such a thing as "LION" exists. The farthest I got was this:

Z:\>mount c: c:/users/ttx/oldgames
Drive C is mounted as local directory c:/users/ttx/oldgames\
(love my Finnish keyboard, it won't accept any \s there, just /, but they both work whatsoever.)

Z:\>c:/cd lion/LION
Unable to change to lion/LION

Tried to mount straight from the E, my CD-DVD rom, but it says it "doesn't exist".
On other accounts, it leads me to "please insert CD", which surprisingly is in comp already and has not been taken out for one moment after putting it in.

So.
I've tried this from drive D, drive C, C and Program Files, C and users and my name and oldgames, drive C without a folder, drive C with folder, same folder as DOSbox...
... practically yes, my everything.

Nope.

Try:

mount c: c:/users/ttx/oldgames
c:
cd lion
lion

..... And of course hit enter after every line.

[Edit]
BTW, you apparently didn't followed the how to, or you would have a C in dosbox in stead of a Z .....

BTW, doesn't DOSBox 0.73 detect your keyboard layout automatically?
