Why does mp3 files open in quicktime through the net? I have the box unchecked in the settings, but it still does it.

try reinstalling the program you actually use for mp3s that may override it.

or just delete Quicktime.

try checking
regedit->hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\windows\curr entversion\explorer\fileexts\.mp3\openwith also hkey_local_machine\software\classes\.mp3\openwithl ist delete quicktime from list

In the second, shouldnt it be .mp3, not ,mp3?
