Conquest of the new world dont runs on XP but within the dosbox is it too slow to handle..

I've tried to speed up the dosbox with help of CTRL+F8 and CTRL+F12 but doesnt helps a lot.

Some suggestions out there?

I have the same problem here and I have a 2 gig computer.

The real problem here is that DOSBox emulate a fast 486 or a slow pentium... And altough you can run the game fine, it's still pretty much the minimum requirement for Conquest of the New World and that's why it's running slow.

I fear that I don't have an alternative for you. There is a new version of DOSBox in the development tough, maybe with the next version it will work better.

That game requires about a P166 or so IIRC (it's not that good, either :P), which DOSBox isn't up to emulating. It was Windows software though, wasn't it? Then again, if Eagle's got the same problem I imagine Compatibility doesn't work...

If he's talking about DOSBox then I assume we are talking about the DOS version. It should not work under XP.
