Hello, this is my second post here :bye: .

I thought it would be nice to enter the forum talking about a great game that hasn't been mentioned yet.

The game is called Darwinia: A Digital Dreamscape, and it's made by Introversion Software, a small independent company that in 2001 made a really fun game called Uplink: Hacker's Elite.

In Darwinia you play yourself. When you start the game, you connect to the Darwin Research Associates Project Server (well, the game pretends to connect there). You are recieved by Dr. Sepulveda, that ask you for your help. You learn that Darwinia is the first digital "theme park" of the internet, and it's a place inhabitated by the Darwinians, some cute 2D sprites moving in this 3D world.

The Darwinians have their own traditions and folklore, and they work in Darwinia making several tasks. However, a virus have invaded the server and it's killing every Darwinian it can find! So your task is to help restore the world and the civilization.

And how do you do this? Easy, the Darwinians have a digital soul, as well as the virus. So everytime you destroy a virus (represented by red worms, spiders, ants and other bugs), they leave its soul, so you have to pick it up using your Engineer and place it on the Incubator, creating new Darwinians.

I don't want to say much about the gameplay, because it would spoil a lot of surprises.

But I wanted to tell you about the game (if you don't know it already), because I think there is a good chance you will like it. The game just feels as any old DOS game. In fact, I often think in Darwinia as the path that videogames should have taken with this new technologies.

The only thing that I'm going to say is this: think in Cannon Fodder, Lemmings, Centipede, Space Invaders and the movie Tron. Mix it all up, add a few more references and you have Darwinia. A must play, really.

You can check out the demo in the game's website, where you can order the boxed copy as well. Also, you can download the game using Steam.

Greets :bye:
