Regarding recent downtime.
The site was down for the last few days because of a shift in server host. It was obvious the old server abandonia was on could not handle the bandwidth we were generating. Luckily we now have a brand spanking new server that not only has enough bandwidth to accommodate out needs but also a lot more space for games (the old server was completely full).
The forum was down for a different reason. Some idiot felt that we had too many accounts on the forum so he deleted the entire forum. The back up has been put online now and as some of you have noticed that means many recent post have been lost. Hopefully this has been the last time we needed to change servers for a LONG time and that out downtime will from now on be minimal. Expect regular updates to resume shortly.

A lot more space for games, hm? Nice, now Abandonia can grow to it's full strentgh.

Appearently we now rank sixth among abandoneware sites and we are growing rapidly.

Yeah, you say it.
But not too surprisingly for me, as I immediatedly knew the first time I found this site, that it is one of the most pleasant and qualitatively sites around.That's why I preferred to stay in it. :wink: |

Right now we have a total of 500MB worth of games and site (pictures and the like) up. The total bandwidth runs in the terabytes (TB). This will be gone quickly once a single games becomes several hundred MB's. So will be monitoring the usage closely.

Good to see abandonia back again

Btw no one ever posts news news on the main site anymore, its only games, i may have missed the fourm post explaining why that is but i was just curios, if u didnt go looking in the announcement forums then u never would of known what the problem was with the downtime... Just a thought |

Once everything is sorted out and works properly we will announce it. Not everything works 100% still.
