Hope this helps.

Default Config

I have read all of the advice on changing the config file to the correct save path. I understand that, but how do you modify the config file? I can't seem to open it and get to a point where I can modify the paths. Thanks in advance for the help.

Default config

I can't even get the config file open. Not even sure what I should be trying to open it with. I am running the newest version of DOSBox on windows 7.

I have the same issue with all the SSI D&D games. I am guessing once I get one figured out I will be able to do the rest.

Doon't know Win7 but in previous Wins, you'd either go to start -> programs -> DOSBox and finally config or you could open the config file in notepad or any text editor.

Default Config

Ok, reinstalled DOSBox and got the config file open. But I do not see anything like what was posted in previous posts. I can see no area where it addresses drives or the saves. I am sure I am missing something simple, but I just can't seem to get it.

Ok, I didn't mess with the config file, but I seem to have gotten it working. I changed the way I mounted in DOSBox. Instead of mounting C:\oldapps\dkk,
I changed to C:\oldapps. Then changed to C:\ and cd dkk. I will see if that works for the other games as well. Thanks for the help.

If it's working when you mount the games folder (which is how you should do it, changing to games directories as needed, instead of mounting the game's directory as root), you may have a few of the game files installed in c:\oldapps.
Or, it could be that the game is trying to use certain paths that do not exist when you mount the game's directory as the root.

(eg. c:\oldapps\dkk becomes c:\ and so the files wouldn't be in c:\ as they're actually in c:\dkk - if you get that..?)

This could account for it not working when you tried to run it with c:\ as c:\oldapps\dkk, as the \oldapps directory wouldn't exist for the purposes of Death Knights.

It is recommended that you ALWAYS mount Dosbox's c:\ as c:\oldapps and NOT as c:\oldapps\[game].
A few extra keystrokes - a few extra commands - isn't much to avoid little errors like this.
It may be an idea to read the FAQ's on Dosbox: http://www.abandonia.com/node/23854

What you are missing is that the previous posts talked about DKK's own config file, not DOSBox' config file.
