Howdy! I have a strange thing happening when I go to install it through dosbox. whether I do so from a folder or straight from hard drive, after typing install it sorta starts to go into a blue screen, then dosbox shuts itself down. No error report, no explanation. Maybe my comps just funny, but do you have any suggestions? Thanks
Are you using Dosbox with XP or Win98? I use Win98 and know nothing about dosbox, but to install I just click on the install.exe file. (But this only works for me as long as the files have been unzipped into the route of the drive.) Have you tried this instead of trying to install through Dosbox?

I'm using windows XP, so i hafta use dosbox to run it. And I gotta say, I've encountered more problems with XP than I ever had back on the ol' win 95 486 comp. Maybe its time to down-grade.

I've still got the Original CD and box for this game. Every time I try to run it I can't get the digital music from the CD tracks to play. They used to when I was younger, so I'm a bit disapointed without it. Mounting -t CDROM in Dosbox only makes the game unplayable.

I have the game installed directly on the c: drive. In the install menu it tells me to type c:\rtz\rtz and the game will run. When I do this it says, "file not found and bad command or file name." I do end up in the directory C:\rtz>. I have tried to run it from this directory without success. Any suggestions?

Hello

I am a DOS and Mac user. I recently bought RTZ for Mac, but needless to say when the game was ported to the Mac, a lot of modifications were made and some things are just not the same. Well so I went to eBay and grabbed a DOS copy. Unfortunately the seller was not clear on his description, (he said either a floppy or CD rom drive was required) I assumed he had both the floppies and the CD. I got the game today. Only floppies. I put them in my PC and the first disk (1 of 12) is busted.

Overall I wanted the CD rom version that contains all the music tracks. The Mac does not work that way. When they ported it to the Mac, instead they made the music tracks into midi files, and improved the graphics, also there was movies playing everytime someone would talk to you.

But I miss the music of the old DOS CD version I used to have, as enjoyable as the movie capable version in the Mac might be, lots of funny comments were removed and the music is so corny (for God sake its midi music! yuck!).

Is there anyone who can tell me how I can find disk number one for download, or better yet, is there any way to get the music tracks from RTZ for downloading somewhere in the web? I could create a custom RTZ CD with the download I got here. I miss the music from the gift shop and the music from the fool's memorial.

Please help, I dont want to get into another expense!

Thanks!
Lili

you have to run the install.exe application again and choose drive C: as your CD rom drive. or reinstall, whenever it ask you what drive to use, choose C: :bye:

Ok - so I finally almost got this to work, taking your advice (dropping everything directly to C: Driv, etc.) The sound is messed up though - like I didn't hear any sound during the intro, then I could hear the music but not the voices on the first screen (and the animation moved too fast in the orb). Any ideas? I have a sound blaster live sound card, and configured it to sound blaster 16 like you said, both times it asked me. Could that be my problem? Thanks!

I realized I had the wrong I/O number in - for some reason I had 22F instead of 0220. I got it to work! Excuse me, I have to go play the best game in the world now. Man, this brings back memories . . .

Hello

:Brain: A very nice person helped me out on how to get the music tracks and I got them now. But I still need the first floppy disk from Zork. Would it be possible for anyone to give me a zip archive with it? Or is there any place I can find it? I wish I had a webpage, I'd let them download the music tracks. Oh well, anyone for Disk 1 of 12? Thanks!

Crap . . . so I somehow lost my money, I have no idea how. I paid the blacksmith for the sword and to read the book, and I thought I had paid for a room too, but now I don't have money to pay for the boat. I can't figure out what to do, does this mean I have to start over?
