i'm currently working on a review of "maupiti island". but i've encountered a
bug! i downloaded the game from some other locations in order to evaluate,
if only the "abandonian version" shows this bug. but unfortunately, all archives
i found so far have it!

i think you can play through the game, although this bug appears, but it can
be quite annoying, i guess.

i need the opinion of experienced reviewers. do you think i should write the
review, pointing out what's going wrong, or what?

BTW: the bug is about reading documents you find in the game. you can only
read these documents (no matter what - letters, newspapers and such..) only
in the room where you've found them. as soon as you try to read them elsewhere
the game freezes and you've got to close dosbox and restart it.

Do you know if it is a bug in the original game?

If it is, it should definately be mentioned in the review as it is a flaw in the game.

Sure there isn´t a patch that would correct it? (unlikely though)
If such would be found,
it should be included in the archive /-

Just warn put a warning in the review, that they should read everything where they found it otherwise the game would freeze!

Now if someone could fix this problem that would be just great, but until then everybody will have to play the game with the bug!

Deffinitly mention the bug in the review. As it is not a game stopping bug (you can work around it) we can still upload the game.

Are you sure it's not a dosbox error? Maybe check with them first. Otherwise, yeah mention it in the review...

He should mention it at any rate and if it is a DOSBox problem mention what version of DOSBox you are using.

i don't know if the same bug occurs in the original version as well.
until now i couldn't find any clue on the web that it is...

also, i couldn't find any suitable patches for this problem so far.

and i've tried several adjustments within the dosbox options, but
it didn't help, unfortunately.

if, by chance, anybody is aware of a solution to this problem or
has the original "maupiti island" i would be grateful for letting me
know.

otherwise, the only way will be to review the game and include
a warning about this bug.
