![]() Lots of games use that mechanism for different things. For example UFO: Enemy Unknown seems to use just that to generate random names, only that it has one single database with international names, but it has different sets for first names and for second names. So yeah go for it.
EDIT: No wait, UFO has different databases for several "cultures", and it's done so that first name and surname are from the same one. It's only that each squaddie can be from any culture randomly, but both his names will match.
