Thanks for the answer! And what do I do when there's no river/lake on the landscape? Also, should I just place the irrigation ditches next to a side of the fields?

You got it! Thanks for the help. Had this game back when I was like 9 years old, but couldn't figure out what to do in it. A manual could come in handy with a game like this.

awesome game, having trouble grasping it though (one of the disadvantages of being to young to play when it was out, or was it being too addicted to R rated games):thumbs:

Use windmills, they pump water from wells, also remember that irrigation ditches double as drainage ditches when they don't have water in them. that allows flooded fields to dry out faster.
