I solved several problems updating it, but you have the last version...maybe a program that doesn't allow you to view those attachements...dunno, firewalls? Some windows crapola protection security system?
About the log in problem...it could be related to cookies.

Here's an annoying one: When I read all new posts, log out, log back in, the posts I just read are now again marked as unread.

well what luschen meant is that on some forums you get +posts and on some you don't. for example, blah blah blah doesn't count
