Right, that's the one, thanks for reminding.
The Caustic Fog spell though is only available through the use of the green skull. It might have been implemented for regular use in a beta of Lands of Lore, but not in the full game anymore. There's no way to get it, except hex-editing your save game, maybe.

The weird thing is that it was referred to in a walkthrough I read yesterday. "Use either the skull or the caustic fog spell" ... That's what made me wonder

I was playing this game last week, but took a break after the Urbish Mines. Now, when I'm ready to continue playing, I for some reason can't get the game running. When I click the LANDS file with the MS DOS icon my screen turns black as if its loading the game, but after three seconds it returns me to Windows. I havent made any changes to the game, or to my computer, since the last time I played. What to do?

Did you try to play it in DosBox?

Intro for whoever is in trouble: In my computer it only worked with DOSBox.

About the game:

I loved it! I never really got to love Eyes of the Beholder, to be quite honest, but this one caught me. The game becomes more and more interesting. I think the graphics are pretty aswesome for the time it was made. I can't comment on the sound as...erm... my ....erm... computer has no sound at the moment Anyways, only the mouse thing gets me kinda annoyed from time to time as it also got me annoyed in my beloved Ultima Underworld. Sometimes it just felt like is too much to be done with this little control. Or maybe I'm just freaking slow...

Tip: If you can't run it...TRY HARDER!! It's worth it, believe me.

Why don't you steer it with the keyboard? The cursor keys on the number block on the right side are best suited for it, with 9 8 7 2 for straight directions and 4 6 for strafing, just like on the game's display. All you need to do then is to click with the mouse on each member's weapon or spell icon to attack and that's it

It sounds more complicated than it is, try it. With short adaptation you'll be probably steering it like that all the time

I cannot believe this game is available. Incredible. Thank you so much to whoever uploaded this. It's one of, if not the best game I have ever played. Fantastic levels, difficult challenges, great graphics, replayability, etc.

One of the best games from my youth. I still get chills when I remember 3rd floor of the White Tower. Many memorable levels...

Personally, the only game I would consider superior to this would be Lands of Lore II: Guardians of Destiny. Which has unparalleled adventure, length, difficulty, and music. You are doing yourself a HUGE disservice if you don't play GoD. It's very different from Lands of Lore 1, but it's a 10/10 game.

Is there any way to get a list of the weapons or the rings so that way you can find out what all of this stuff does, like the bezel ring, and other things that you find or a "shining" star what the difference would be from that and a normal star. Anyway if you could help in any way of how to really id items (maybe the guy in the swamp) or a place to go to found out online or something
