Quest for Glory 1 VGA was remade by Sierra, about the same time they made the Space Quest 1 remake, and also Larry 1 VGA remake.

I was really hoping to find this game here but it has either been removed or was never posted

It really is a great game, I have the original on 5.25 floppy but no machines here with one of those drives in it anymore. I am pretty sure it was copy protected so I am not going to hunt a 5.25 drive down just to replay it. Maybe someday i will find it in the rare CD version on a cheap rack.

I'm not planning on posting here ever again, but I did finish Quest for Glory 4 using the anthology version.

I liked number 5 when I played it, but that was years back. Hmm, I can't say if I'd like it now though.

Anyone noticed that the games were origionally referred to as "HERO'S QUEST"? Maybe I'm just an old geezer (hell, I played PONG and later the origional TETRIS when it was made...) that remembers the little things...

(Actually, there was also "Heroes Quest" and I know "Heroe" is Spanish for Hero, but the correct plural of Hero is Heroes. Just the American butchery of the English language at work once again.

The game was first released by Seirra as "Hero's Quest" but it was very quickly pulled off the shelves (like within a few days of release) and repackaged as "Quest for Glory" due to a lawsuit over the name. I believe it was a Milton Bradley board game that it infringed upon but I am not sure about that, it has been a ling time ago!

I was one of the lucky few that grabbed a copy of the original when it first come out. I know it must be pretty rare because I have never seen another although I have seen some hacked copies of it floating around.

In any case, mine is in 5.25 format and not the VGA version. Looking forward to the release of this game as abandonware!
