wow this is a great game, I can't believe that I never heared of this gem before (great atmosphere, great graphics, what more do you want?). What amazes me even more is that noone commented on this game yet!

This game makes me wish DreamForge was still together. I love it's cinematic feel. And you got to love the blond twit as the protagonist. LOL

Anyone remember 'The Summoning'? It's in my Top 5 list of greatest PC games ever. Well, this game is by Dreamforge, the same group of programmers who developed that incredible game. 'Veil of Darkness' is an action/adventure game, and IMO it should be in the RPG category. It is immensely enjoyable, and when you play it you will wonder why it didn't get the recognition it deserved.
The editor's rating of 5 is no lie. It is an awesome game...and if you like it...you MUST play 'The Summoning.' It blows this out of the water! BTW, if you use VDMS instead of DosBox the game will run a lot faster and smoother. Enjoy! |

I've been wanting to play this game again for like 10 years now. My friend had it and let me play it and it was awesome. I think he made me a copy of it (floppy) but I wrote over it t.t

Anyone knows how to heal my character? I'm slowly dying because of all the monsters...and my inability to heal between combat. Other than that I love this game, great atmosphere!

It depends on what kind of wound you get. There are various plants you can collect in places like the swamp, the maze, etc. that you need to take (eat) in order to heal yourself. Consult the apothecary in the village to find out about the usage of these plants.
About The Summoning, well, I can play Veil of Darkness without any problem whatsoever either in WinXP or in DOSBox, but somehow I can't play The Summoning in my machine. My mouse is not detected, and the keyboard control is slow and horrible. Any suggestion? |
