When Gamecube controlers glitch.
Sometimes if you press buttons while the game loads, the game will think that you're holding the control stick down or up or to the side or in some other direction the whole time. It's very annoying, as you have to reset the system before you can play the game properly. P.S. - Chickenman, I understand, PS2 controllers are horrible.
