Ebay sells it now and then - look for the Ultima Collection, it's worth buying.

I got this game woth my PC in 1994. But I finish the game only in 2004. Ten years... it's a dream coming to reality...

My dream would have come to reality if the expansion for Ultima 8 would ever has been released. But there isn't even any fan-work for that... *sigh*

Setting frame skip to 3 will help improve speed.

This is the first RPG/Adventure game I'd ever played back then, and I simply LOVED it. I'd played it so much that the entire map of Pagan, with even the little details, was memorized in my brain. I don't understand why some people don't like it as much as the previous Ultima games, it also deserves praise.

Exactly my words. This game is in quite some elements new and superior to the previous series. The dark mood created by music, the good animations for spells and combat, the grand story and the mysterious and interesting world this game was simply beautiful. I also remember all the locations of Pagan completely.

If my character is in a battle with characters that can cast any number of spells, shifting instantly, at a moment's notice, but I can't do that--having to root through a backpack in realtime--then something is wrong. And if I have to jump from stone to stone to cross a river, and whatever level of character I have, if I click accidentally with a mouse in the wrong place my character drowns--I've got better things to do, and other games to play.

Luckily for you, there are other games that you can play that don't require patience from you like this one. Not all people obviously know that there is a savegame-feature and that some games require little patience and interest to be enjoyed...

ROFL! Even luckier for me, tbere are many people who understand that when feature-level aspects of a game are asinine, the answer isn't to tell folks, "Go play your saved game again and again from that point until you agree to like the feature."
