just look at the settings

Maximum number of competitors: 0
Maximum initial loan: $1.000.000
Initial interest rate: 2%
Vehicle running costs: low
Vehicle breakdowns: none
Construction costs: low
Disasters: off

with this settings it' s impossible not to win; just with the initial loan it is possible to build a dozen trains, but with hard settings, i doubt it to be possible to build more than two. and just watch at what was spent per year in vehicle running costs (in my screenshot, for 22 trains, around $1.500.00 per year; luxurious screenshot, for 67 trains, $550.000) that' s 3 times more for 1/3 of the vehicles.

sorry guys for all this; i' m not against any one :angel:, just think if you want to compare, you have to define some rules and every competitors must follow the rules. imagine there were no rules in F1 - the smart team equips a car with a space shuttle rocket and will certainly win against the ones running a car pulled by a donkey (it is a very bad example, but is just to show my point of view).

and luxurious, play it with hard settings and show us the results; then maybe we call you "TTD Guru" :twisted:

i use some a custom settings and i didn´t brake the records. :ranting:

There is rules, and those rules allow you to use whichever setting you want. You could always use the same settings and make yourself an ultimate highscore too...

I myself used custom settings to make all my scores, except one or two which were on hard (and those are the best scores). All I can say more about this is that it wasn't just a plain dull challenge, I made those scores while having fun playing the game.

I think Shrek seems to show more skills in TTD.
Not bashing Lux, but I think that playing on Hard and amassing a large amount of money with a very small amount of trains shows much more potential in someone's playing skills.

It should be more of a difficulty thing instead of completely statistical.

i agree i think the settings ,will be the same for everybody, because some can do better with hard settings and it is different make with easy settings.
