![]() The way I see it, we have this great site that Kosta and others have set up, and our current system works pretty well. Why make the waters choppy just to save a few minutes of download time? Is it really worth the risk of abandonia? If you really want bigger games, contribute to the site and try to obtain a VIP membership. Otherwise, deal with some extra download time.
I apologize if the above sounded rude in anyway, it was not my intention, I promise  |

![]() well, it should only be a proposal...
i still think, it's good. even wikipedia is spread via ed2k-links. after all it's only a means of distribution, not a something criminal in the first place... and of course i thought of it only as an add-on to the existing links, not to exchange it! adding BTs and/or ed2k-links won't hurt anyone, after all the files are for free anyway, only thing that happens would be, that ppl could get the files from each other, not only from your server(s). but as long as you don't agree i will keep on reducing your bandwidth and raising your traffic happily and: i probably will never get to be VIP, for i only can provide foreign language versions of existing releases or things that are forbidden (how can i find out, if something is abandonned?! is it sufficiend to search the company's website, or search all 23billion hits on a google search?) ... you're too good... |

![]() That's basically what everyone else does - check mobygames for the publishers and so on then compare them with the ESA list (googling them if they're obscure ones that might have been bought out since), check common sites on which they might be sold (cdaccess et al.) then google something like "game xxx new to buy" and similar and look for links - nobody here's a walking encyclopaedia of game abandonment (or deciding arbitrarily) with the possible exception of Tom
There's other ways to get VIP status - I got mine for the Grammar corrections we're still working on (and a review for a now-protected game - Populous 2 if you're interested) and lots of people have gotten them for translating and general helpfulness. But this is getting a long way off topic. |

![]() I see the point, however I do not like the idea of kavind ED2K links on Abandonia.
Still, P2P seems a valid alternative for spreading those really BIG abandoned games around. I mean, 200 MB+ |
