I have the floppy version, but have you tried installing it to your HD, you need to use 256 colours. Far as I know the CD version can be played on Windows too (I do KQ5 direct from the CD with min. install). I use DOS haven't yet mastered DosBox...it's a bit tricky

Happy Gaming!!!

Ok... I didn't see anyone answer this particular issue but... I own the old/new KQ6CD (or as y'all call it the talkie-version) and regardless of where I run it, be it DOSBOX or XP I can't get the little higher-quality character portraits to come up... one thing I always admired about this game was it's high artistic quality and I was wondering if anyone knew of a patch or way to fix this issue...

Much appreciated

This was my first ever adventure game (back in '93, I was 9) and still is one of my favourites, if not the favourite. Heck, I named my cat Cassima. Truly a masterpiece of gaming even today. Long live the royal family of Daventry!

Despite it's 'mixed up' storyline yes it's the best of the KQ series and my favourite too! Remember tha Alex and Cassima start a new dynasty...no longer Daventry!

hey, i just got the game and am using it in DOS-Box, and for some odd reason, its not letting me talk to the Bookworm. he'll tell me not to touch his books, but i cant talk to him. and talking to him triggers the appearance of the hanging particaple(sp?) if one of you could hook me up with a save game for right after that, i would be greatful. -Derek

hmmm.... you see, i thought you talk to him, and he hints that he needs something in return for one of his rare books, and then the hanging particle appears, you give him the unfinished sentence, and then you take him back to the bookworm. i'll try it your way.

Ha you give the 'unfinished sentence' to the 'dangling participle' (probably a child of the 'Bookworm ) in The Isle of the Beast, bring it back and put it on the books and ureka you get a rare book! :brain:
