what OS do you use? i had sound problems running the game under winXP. you might turn sounds off or try to reconfigure your sound card in setup.bat. try to choose another irq for the soundblaster. it is set to "5" by default, changing it to "7" may help.
if the program still does not work properly try dosbox or vdmsound. i didn't have any problem using both programs.
