You shouldn't need a patch to run the game. What system do you have, ie Windows 98 or XP? For both systems you need to unzip the game files to whichever drive you choose - usually C drive. But do not unzip them into a folder. Chose an unzip address that's something like this: C:\

They usually unzip together in a cluster, so it's not that hard to find all the files in the archive. Then you double click on 'install.exe' This installation program will ask where you want to install the files. If you have another drive, I'd choose it. Then, later, when the installation program asks the name of your CD rom drive, just type in the drive letter where you unzipped the original files - the ones you downloaded from Abandonia. Then the game knows where to look for these files so it can run properly.

You need to know the name of your sound card. If it's not a Sound Blaster card, and it's not one that is on the list that the installation program provides, then you could try selecting the 'sound blaster clone' option. You also need to know your i/o number, plus your IRQ. These settings enable the sound card to provide digital sound and music for the game. I've outlined how they can be found in a previous post in this thread.

If you have XP, you have one more step and that is configuring the game to run in dosbox. There are several step-by-step instructions on how to do that in this thread. If you have 98, then you can miss this step and just click on rtz.bat and the game should run for you.

Any more questions, just ask. The game is very stable and once the above is taken care of should run on any system.
