I agree, but that is no reason to bash the game into oblivion.
Half Life didn't have a much better ending.
And half Life 2 has a cliffhanger too, an even bigger one since the adrenaline is just beginning to pump.
"Hurry up Gordon, if we run we might just have enough --"
"time? Mr Freeman?"
but you don't see anyone breaking down Half Life 2 because it has quite an anticlimactic ending and leaves you with more questions than answers, too.
Its called marketing, nearly every game does it these days.
