It was a Third person game. Yes - an adventure game like Discworld or Monkey Island.
I'm not exactly sure if I remember correctly, but I believe the character had to hunt vampires.
I also think (not so sure on this one) you could choose characters (I think there were at least two to choose from.), but I am not so sure.
I have remembered this morning, that after the forest maze, there was a medieval village. In this village, there were cloves of garlic hanging on the houses and the character wondered why.
