I believe HOI 2 Doomsday is what you need, goes into the 1950's! I never seem to get anywhere as Germany or Japan but still alot of fun till I am crushed.
In HOI I played Yugoslavia a number of times, staying out of the war then joining Germany lasy min. I was invaded by England and later US, finally held the line, built naval bombers and attack their shipping. Later I took over Italy and was holding my own. Darn Russians invaded thru the Black Sea in 44 and combine with US beef up on the east coast took over almost all of Yugoslavia. Italy rolled over then. I then ally with allies (!) and help crush Germany (really grab crumbs behind monster armies stomping Europe). I need to belly up and try it in HOI 2!
