No good, there doesn't seem to be a Compatibility heading/mode/section.

Yes, there is one, but it's not enabled by default in W2K. MS knows why, I don't.
You need W2Ksp4 for it (I thought)
To activate it:
Click Start
Click Run
Type
cmd
cd %systemroot%\AppPatch
regsvr32 slayerui.dll
It's ok when this :
DllRegisterServer in c:\winnt\appatch\slayerui.dll succeeded appears.
Other than for XP the comp tab is only active on shortcuts, not on the prog executable itself, so:
Create a shortcut for the game (rightclick-> create shortcut).
Now you have a compability tab by rightclicking on the shortcuts for older win progs executables in W2K.
It is not as performant as the one under XP but sometimes it's enough to get older Windows progs to work.
If you want to disable it again:
regsvr32 /u slayerui.dll
