Win 3.11 will do with a generic VGA driver. Any card will do, 1 MB memory being about what you need.
However, you'd be better off with Win 95 - trust me on that. There is a number of Windows games you wouldn't be able to run on 3.11, not to mention a bunch of useful programs.

well, i already have it running on a generic vga driver, but most programs have problems, and they say that they would run best with 256 colors. i try'd switching to all the other drivers included (which all said 256 color next to them), but they really messed windows up, and i had to use the windows\setup in dos to fix it. If there is any way to use 256 colors under the default vga driver than let me know.
oh, and i might just use windows 95, but i was first going to at least try 3.11, you know, "for old times sake". I never actually had a computer with windows 95 on it, i just skipped dtraight from 3.11 to 98, plus i still have all sorts of old floppys and cd's for our old 3.11 programs, so i just kinda decided i would start at 3.11 and go from there. Plus its not like i am going to do anything even remotely modern modern on that computer, I have a pentium D 3.2 Ghz, nvidia 7800 gtx and 2 gigabytes of ram for that
