It looks just like any other version of DOS, unless you install some GUI. (Volkov Commander is included in the install package - it's about 95% the same as Norton Commander, even looks the same - its actual installation depends only on your decision)

Yup, all configured during the installation. You just dont install certain extensions (DOSLFN in this case, if I am correct - they are explained in detail when you are prompted to choose anyway).
