That's strange, as when I was able to cross the pit through hex-editing the savegame earlier, I found there just another Mine Key 2...

The jammed door in Castle Cimmeria lv. 1 is a mystery even today. Some people, including my brother, claimed they were able to open it, but don't know how they did it. There's nothing on the other side, though
Actually, there is a two-handed sword on the other side, that is if you mean the two doors that look like a pattern of branches. This two-handed sword, forgot it's name, is the second best melee weapon in the game, aside of the best two-handed sword that is found as the game proceeds. And you get hurt slightly while trying to get that sword, it's on a kind of an emblem on the wall and it looks just like a pattern on the wall, but if you click there, you get the sword.

There's also a hidden spell in the game. You can find it in the west of Yvel. Click on one of the closed doors, and they'll come loose, so you can enter the building. It's usefull against ghosts. Westwood fans will probably recognise this spell!

You don't mean by chance the spell Hand of Fate? It's not really hidden, as far as I know, you can find it in more than one place in the game, but maybe that differs on different versions, I have the CD version with full speech of Patrick Steward.
