And if you want to stick to good old XCOM, there's "XComUtil", a tool for modding xcom 1&2. It will add new xcom ships (firestorm and interceptor can now carry soldiers), randomize alien ships, add balance to weapons (finally some use of pistols), and enable/disable day and night combats and psi attacks, randomize terrains on world map, and so on. Makes game interesting again. I really like the "disable psi combat" option, because then you can deploy your troops to sniper locations and just wait for bastards to come out and head for their ship. Only they never quite get there... :twisted:
