Yeah I actually did my first VHS -> Computer recording yesterday. I used the connector that came with the TV card. Heres some pics:


The Red Yellow and Red cables I pluged into the vcr with one of those extenter cables, and I didn't worry about the black cable. I plugged the othere end ( the black single bit) into the TV Tuner card which had one of those inputs.

Check what inputs you have at the back of your video card. If you can afford a TV Card (they are pretty cheap these days), then I would recommend it as they are pretty cool.
