As some of you might have noticed, there is a new member in town. This member is obviously on his way up the ranks. Now... the problem is that this member has not told the good folks at Abandonia what he thinks of the site...

Therefor I think some thoughts about the site are required (all though they are late).
First of all, let me congratulate the god and his followers the moderators on a job well done! This site has got to be in the top ten spots over great abondonware sites on the net....
And being in the top ten ranks obviously means Abandonia holds the NUMBER 1 spot. If I had a reward to give you guys I would.
The reasons behind this rank are:
- The games themselves -
(or the reason why people visits the site)
1. A great number of
downloadable games.
2. A compatibility overview, to avoid downloading games you can not play.
3. All the links works. (At least for me).
4. Every game has its own review, explaining the game for someone who has not played it before.
5. There are numerous screen-shots for each and every one!
Few other abandonware sites on the net scores in all these catagories, but wait.... There's more!
- Extras -
1. There are no pop-ups anywhere on the site. (May pop-ups burn in Pandemonium).
2. You can download programs you need to run certain games. (Like DOSBox).
3. The news department is extremely detailed, AND updated reguarly.
4. The forum details every game on the site, new updates, trouble shooting and hints.
5. The people using the forum actually tries to help non-members! (Rare in todays forums).
6. You can be notified with an e-mail when someone replies to one of your questions.
Secondly, I have a question... Apparantly there is not much room left on the site for new games. Is this problem fixable? Or will we one day see the end of new updates in the game area? (Yes, I do not know much about how to create a site on the net... I have been without a PC for many years now, and thereby lost much of what I once knew...)
If it is so that the forum topics takes up valuable game space, then I would suggest deleting old topics. They could for instance be deleted automatically if no one uses them for a certain time limit, like 10 days.
