Initially they produced and distributed board games. Through their newly-formed video games division Paradox Interactive, between 2000 and 2005 they published a number of strategy titles including the first in the Europa Universalis series.
Paradox Interactive is since a few years a separate company, not affiliated with Paradox Entertainment.

Paradox Entertainment Inc. develops and licenses mainly character-based properties. The properties are exploited as film, tv-series, books, comics, videogames, Internet/mobile/wireless applications, toys, apparel, and more. The company owns stories and characters created by pulp author Robert E. Howard, among others Conan, Kull, Bran Mak Morn and Solomon Kane. Paradox also owns the original property Mutant Chronicles. In all, the property portfolio consists of around 1000 stories and characters.
The parent company, Paradox Entertainment AB, is publicly traded on the Swedish First North Premier list (PDXE, SE0000598054), run by NASDAQ OMX. Financial statements are not available in English at this moment.
A Conan live-action motion picture is presently in development at Millennium Films with a planned release in 2009/2010. Solomon Kane, with James Purefoy ("Rome") in the lead role, is in post-production with Davis Films.
Paradox also owns the original property Mutant Chronicles, with a motion picture featuring Thomas Jane, Ron Perlman, John Malkovich and Devon Aoki, having been released across most of Europe during winter 2008/2009. In North America the movie will open in 2009 as pay-per-view in March and in theatres in April.
