Dear Abandonia visitors: Help us keep Abandonia free with a small donation. Abandonia is like an old gaming arcade with only original games. Abandonia helps you have fun four hours and years. If Abandonia is useful to you, please help us forget fundraising and get back to Abandonia.

When Abandonia was founded it was to collect and present all old games where the copyright protection had been abandoned, hence the term ’abandonware’ and the site name Abandonia.com. We are still keeping the site open and free and will appreciate your support to help it stay that way.

‐ Thank you from the Abandonia Team

We are trying to make it easy for people in every country to donate. Please let us know how we could make it easier for you.

Please give whatever you can to help us.

background details

A Linux software designer and distributor, Caldera released their only game, Advanced NetWars along with their product, OpenDOS, bought from Novell as Novell DOS 7. The game is an upgraded version, maybe even a sequel if you want, of NetWars, developed by Novell and bundled together with their Netware network operating system, as a demonstration of its multiplayer capabilities.

Caldera History Timeline (taken from their site):

1994 - Caldera Inc formed by Ray Noorda, Ransom Love and Bryan Sparks.

1998 - Caldera Inc. Split off into two new companies Caldera Systems and what was to become Lineo. Caldera Inc. continued to exist until 2000. Following the settlement of the Microsoft litigation, Caldera Inc. was merged into The Canopy Group.

2001 - Caldera Systems completes the acquisition of SCO's Server Software and Professional Services Divisions, becoming Caldera International (Caldera) and providing the world's largest UNIX Reseller channel.

2002 - Caldera changes its name to The SCO Group (SCO), returning to the SCO brand.
