Well I'm glad I bought it before this happened, as I knew this would happen. I still can't even really play it due to massive lag.

But I was thinking it would happen due to the violence. I didn't think we were so uptight about one small sex scene. Even one that is quite badly animated. I haven't seen it but the rest of the game seems pretty badly animated, or maybe it's just my crappy settings.

Actually, it's just about the worst skinned mod ever. The game is pretty well animated on a good PC.

To anyone who's like 'omg has an 18+ age of concent and even that's not good enough' all I can say is that teenagers in Germany can have sex at 14 (if their parents consent as well as they do), although this may have changed by now.

The game Singles : Flirt Up Your Life, which is essentially The Sims with more sex and less house design was rated 12+ there, but the publishers gave it a voluntary 15+ one. Here in England it got slapped with an 18+ sticker as soon as it hit the country.

But there we are, really, different cultures allow different things. Our games-rating company is quite uptight, I believe that Australia have got the right idea, killing in a game is totally different to anything in real life, and people should know that. In the UK the BBC and most of the current media is totally irresponsible about this, I think that merely rating it 18+ is enough.

I thought that BBc article was one of their usual fair, nonjudgemental ones - it stated the facts about it and pointed out that it's an 18 cert here. the only hysterical bits were all quotes.

You wish. The article itself is fair, but it links to another one of its own which is about as biased as that thing on Channel 4 a couple of years back.

I shall be dying from the shock of seeing that poor innocent person dying in that car explosion. hehehe, sucker.. *boom*
we play these because they are fun, not because we want free porn. but hey, nothing like an 'interesting' storyline to spruce up the game. But do you really think Im gonna go out and buy a LAW off some corrupted army sergant? No. because prison would ruin my plans. I have to finish these games sometime! you cant do that in prison..

In case no one had noticed but things like 'that' were already building up at Vice City.

Well I just agree with Blood Piggy on the idiocy of Rockstar bit. Although it is VERY tiresome the way some countries appear to be horrified by any hint of sex in any way while exploding bodies, blowing each others' head of and encouriging gang wars is appearantly harmless you just can't tell me Rockstar couldn't have foreseen any of this when they put that specific part in their game. They knew this could happen and they took the risk, and now they have to suffer the consequences. It doesn't really makes sense to me, but hey, it's their party

I figured that was their thought as well, but I doubt that it will work that way, especially when big stores remove the game from their shelves because of this. Maybe their next release will sell better though (or maybe the 'clean' release even).
