Admins, yes, they're a rough lot

But Mods - never! :angel:

I go through stages with swearing. For ages I'll be totally repulsed by it and then I'll go through a period when I find myself doing it. However it seems perfectly ok when I do it (funny that!) but I never enjoy hearing other people swear.

And that's my main concern, is you never know who is around you or who you will offend by swearing. I remember watching a guy cussing up a storm at the supermarket, and when he turned around he saw this little kid (must have been like, four) staring up at him and repeating what he said, and instantly the guy was like "no, you shouldn't say those things I'm sorry blah blah blah etc." <insert foot in guys mouth> Cursing to yourself, or in private, sure, I say that's fine, but in public I don't appreciate it very much.

I know exactly what you mean. :P My phases of swearing are usually brought on by playing video games and getting frustrated. Other than that I really only stick to the lowkey swear words.

I have a strong annoyance for the people that every other word out of their mouth is a swear. It really doesn't make them sound cool (or all that intelligent for that matter).

I have to agree that frequent swearing gives people the appearance of stupidity
and lack of character. i sometimes swear a lot myself when i am very
angry :ranting:

but swearing in public is totally inapropriate

I didn't vote because I don't agree with them. I don't swear, never have, never will I think. I don't hate the people who swear, I just don't like hearing it.

I swear when its semi-appropriate I guess. I kind of ride the fence on this one, I don't mind it until it gets insane. I feel the same way about people using 1000 smilies in one post too though :whistle:
