David Bowie - Heroes.

It's possibly the saddest song ever, and after seeing Christiane F (Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo) the sadness of it quadrupled. It may not be the best song in the world, but it packs the largest chunk of Feeling.

For me it's a close call between Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin and Shine on you crazy diamond - Pink Floyd
Not a huge fan of Stairway to heaven but Shine on you crazy diamonds is great especially while reality is an illusion

For me Freebird by Lynard Skynard is the one, listen to it every time I leave work to remind me that I'm not just a small cog on the machine of a multinational stinking company

A bit surprised I didn't see anyone else mention it.

It's either Days of Pearley Spencer by Marc Almond (might be a cover actually), despite the naffness, or more likely Enjoy the Silence by Depeche Mode. Chuck has a point though, it's pretty hard to pick one out of thousands of good songs.
