My first computer was a 286, and it was sloooooooow... There was a "turbo" button which made a lot of difference, as well as no hard drive and two big 51/4" floppy drives. LOL

I'm glad I only know the days of Pentium, but I would of loved the hacking  . Just to play around  . Hehe... But I'm glad I missed 'em for the most part. I mean, I'm patient, but I dunno how long I'd last!

Try Warcraft - Orcs & Humans. It's top-down Realtime Strategy. Can't download the game here, though.

I didn't say "I don't have a graphics card". And I'm only 15 so to tell you the truth, I don't know what a 486 is. I meant to say Tribes was the most advanced thing I ran. And I'm not surprised Duke only needs a MB, afterall it is a DOS program.
486 was top of the line when you were about 4 years old. May I suggest a history lesson from Wikipedia?

Just to dispel rumors about the age thing being a valid excuse. Im thirteen and I know what a 486 is.
Kudos to you. From your conduct on the forums I've expected you to be an adult - quite a surprise.
Most thirteen year olds one sees around can't make out the difference between an FDD and GUI (heck, usually they don't even know what either is).

Yup. Pentium 1 was actually initially given name of i586 - it was supposed to be a next generation - but since Intel could not copyright that, they renamed it to Pentium.

Hacking isn't dead nowadays, just less in the plain view.

Aw, sweet old days I had a Commodore +4 then, with all those cool games and BASIC for programming. My 386DX came only 4 years later And don't say but I have a 3.5 Ghz Athlon64 with 1 G RAM and a X800 Pro
