I am currently involved in a long-running project called Railway(Rail) 3D. The object is to create a freeware program to allow the user to plan, build and simulate a railway network. It allows custom stock, scenery, track, OHLE (electricication) and signals. The program is fully 3D and avaliable at www.rail3d.net for download. The program is only a few MB. Models are created using a header (defining the paramaters of the object) then using any of a few techniques. Its updated regularly, but we have one problem. We lack people to make new objects!
