What I love about Quest for Glory is that when you meet a monster in THAT (series of) Sierra adventure game. You actually get to kick ITS behind and kill it.

Remember those old Kings Quest game? They where all like 'Whoops, this ogre who came out of nowhere just killed you!' Here you get to kill the ogre and steal his treasure box.

I like the VGA graphics and combat better. In fact, it's one of the few Sierra VGA remakes that I actually like, although I'd still recommend playing this one first since a lot of the fun is lost by having everything simplified with icons. I played this game a lot on a crappy, heavy monochrome laptop along with Conquests of Camelot. I think the first game was the best overall game in the series and pretty much gave me everything I wanted in game like that, although QFG4 has the best story.

Awesome game. I can still remember the day when I first read about it in a German magazine, I think it was ASM, but had to wait years before I could play it because I was not able to own it.

If you today look at Oblivion or Gothic ]|[, the graphics and technology are superb, but those old games, especially QfG, had something unmet by any other game.

There was nearly no other game to whose story I felt so connected like to this one (and also part 2). I remember around '98 where I was at the military service I had luck and had a office job and managed to play through it in a week or so and was even able to achieve one more point than the maximum.

Unbeatable experience. Unforgettable.

I've beaten this game a few times now, but I've decided to play it through again because it's that awesome

Quick question: is there any legit way to get a lock pick as a non-thief character? In my last game I made a wizard with pick locks skill and I used debug mode to give him a lock pick. But I think that messes the game up because when I tried to import him to QFG2, the game thought he was a fighter

I don't think that's the debug mode...

All my characters turned fighters when I try to import them... and they haven't got any non-inherent skills whatsoever.
