In DosBox? Yes. I've tried doing it with -ioctl, which is the only one where I don't get that annoying music CD message. Of course, instead of that, I get an annoying no such file message.

I purchased Worlds of Xeen, and tried installing it, and it says I can't run it on Windows NT, I have to install it on Windows 95 or 98, how can I do this?

Thank you

That's simple, and you said the answer already. Install it on Windows 95 or 98.

Hey fellow WOX addicts, I've been trying to get Dosbox to work for awhile now, and have finally got it! I just unplugged the joystick, and it worked much faster. If you are having a speed issue, try unplugging a resource demanding piece of hardware.
I have been playing Swords of Xeen (a spinnoff), just like it was meant to on DOS, and decided to try World of Xeen. I had the disk and everything, and put it in, then tried to play using Dosbox. It said I needed to mount the CD-ROM, so I did, and it still won't detect the disc. Is there a way to play w/o the disc? I remember trying to play the WOX I downloaded here (which didn't need a disc), but that was before I figured out Dosbox, and I deleted the download file. If there is no way to get the disc working, can I download the game again here, or was it taken off for good? Thanks.

The game might be back, but there is no telling when.

As for your problems with the CD:
1. Did you mount the CD as you would mount a hard drive? For the CD to be "seen" by DosBox as such, you need to use particular triggers in the MOUNT command (they are detailed in the readme file).
2. You might consider making a disc image. I remember that DosBox can mount at least some types of CD images as virtual drives.

Thanks for the reply. I looked through the Dosbox readme, and saw that there were several levels of support. I tried all 3 of them, and they haven't worked, but I could be doing it wrong. There is a tricky part of the command in the last two levels of cd-rom support which say "-usecd 0." Maybe I have to put in a number here.

As for the disc image, Does DosBox have a function where you can take an image of the disc, then use the image through Dosbox?

Yes, if I remember right you just give it the path to the disc image in the MOUNT command.

Extract both Xeen games to the same directory, Darkside goes second I think.

I have made a .iso CD-ROM image, and still just mounting that, it says I have a music cd loaded. Maybe it's something to do with the fact that it is from the Millenium edition cd.
Btw, I found a very cool site (the most detail of WOX): http://f45.aaa.livedoor.jp/~mighty/index2.html
The bad thing- it is mostly in Japanese! But by using babelfish, you can get most of the meaning out of it.
