just downloaded this game and playing it in dosbox, its pretty cool and everything except WHERE THE HECK IS THE MUSIC? I have everything right, I know, I think the music is not here. So where is it at? Is there somewhere I can download it at? Thanks
If it is not available for download can someone share with me the music? Thanks.

Also, how do you change the refresh rate in VDMssound? I run heroes of might and magic with vdmsound sometimes and the refresh rate is 60 hz, which makes my head hurt. Is there some program out there that controls this? I have tried and tried to change it, but nothing has worked so far, only dosbox, which limits it at 80 something hz.

TO RUN HEROES OF MIGHT AND MAGIC

FOLLOW THIS GUIDE CAREFULLY!!!!!!

Download File here Abandonia

Unzip it into the c:\ drive and name the folder you unzip it to "HEROES"

1. Run DosBox
2. You will see a blinking cursor "Z"
3. If your cd drive is d:\ then type in this: mount d -t cdrom d:\, then press enter
If your cd drive is e:\ then type in this: mount e -t cdrom e:\, then press enter
A message sould pop up and say MSCDEX installed,
Drive e(or d) is mounted as CDRom.
4. next, type in this: mount c c:\, press enter
5. type in c:, press enter
6. type in cd\HEROES
7. type in HEROES

game should run then
Or, for the really lazy ones like me :w00t:

You can create a shortcut of dosbox.exe , copy it to your heroes folder, and then drag heroes.exe into dosbox.exe :zzzzz:

At least it works for me :Brain: . Well, back to being lazy!

PS. Still no1 willing to share the mapeditor???

Just type in this:

mount d -t cdrom d:\, then press enter

I don't think there's a lazy way to do that, unless you somehow were to make it automatically do it.
And I didn't know that it could be that easy, all this time typing crap in and I could have just draged and played!
Well, I know this from now on, thanks!

after this just type in "heroes" or whatever the name of your .exe file is, more than likely it's heroes because this is default.

does anyone know where I can get the music for this game?
Please?? Anyone? Please??
Thanks

Music was recorded as audio tracks on the original CD. You'll have to obtain a copy of the full CD version to get it.

You can. Just edit Dosbox.conf and put that line in the autoexec section, on the far bottom.

This might be obvious, but have you tried typing "CD HEROES"?

Someone with the original cd should rip it and encode to mp3 (loses some quality, but i think it's worth it), so that audio could be distributed with a cue file and later burnt on a disc! In home of the underdogs they used to have the audio for Loom along with the vga update pack. I remember it worked!
