OK new UPDATE: I was able to download DOS BOX thanks to the wonderful tutorial by Anubis (sp?)... but i did have a few minor dificulties that were not mentioned in the tutorial (For some reason the dos box still runs on drive Z instead of C even though I did everyhting by the book)
but I dont think that will matter too much...
I am reloading X wing currently, and then I hope to mount it with Daemon. I may be able to figure it out by myself, but just to be safe - how do you mount it again???

Thank you guys so much for your time and effort!

hi there,

i can only give you a rough idea, because i've deinstalled Daemon a while ago.
if i remember correctly, there's a small icon of Daemon in the right part of your
task bar in windows.

right-clicking this icon reveals a menu, where you can find an option about mounting
files to a virtual cd-drive. after you selected this option a file selection window pops
up where you have to browse to the folder containing the extracted x-wing files...
select all files in this folder, then click 'ok' and the mounting procedure should be
completed.

afterwards just proceed as explained in a post above....
(start DosBox, change directory to mounted virtual drive, start x-wing installation,
and have fun! )

OK... I'm not there yet BUT I have made PROGRESS! I have sucsefully mounted it on Daemon! So that's taken care of!
But, I am haveing a very hard time getting hte files on a floppy disk- maybe I'm doing soemthing wrong there. (BTW, so far I've been following the instructions ste by step fromteh games little files that says "BOOTDISK")
And my biggest problem is that the game needs EMS which I don't have set. How do I get that working?
Oh and one more Q (thanx for being patient with me!) are these two issues connected at all?

Well, dunno... maybe ya don't need one. Anyway, the boot disk is the least of my worries... I'm concerned about the EMS memory stuff

The game runs nice on my dosbox. Thanx 4 Abandonia n its contributors 4 putting this game up.

How do u recharge lasers anyway? I keep depleting 'em. :help:

I notice if I set invulnerability, unlimited weapons, & collision on, the game won't record my mission progress to my pilot. I guess cheaters never win eh...

And, btw, efthimios, you were right... i don't need a boot-disk, the only thing I need ot figure out is the EMS memory!
Any help there?
