It's been years since I last ran an Amiga emulator.
The procedure should be explained in the emulator's readme.

Finally run the game. Fun. Looks like HQ a bit, but adds more heroes. The first quest is a mine field of traps. Dwarf is essential to survive. In my first game 3/4 heroes died on traps.

Thanks for all the help I got here in running HQ.

perrrfect k: :brain: ! here's what i think about this game =
1. gameplay - ultimate, easy, fun, great!.. everything good. i just love beating up the monsters, easy pickings. 5.
2. difficulty - easy. sometimes gets boring, but as i said, easy pickings. remembers me of modern game i had, fable (the lost chapters). small rpg, monsters were easy to kill. same here. 4.
3. graphics - good, for a dos game. even great! this makes game playable (think about pizza), and fun (sauce). gameplay makes it great (cheese, ham, etc.). 5.
overall rating - 4.7

Default Hero Quest Soundtrack (Amiga)

This game was alright. Quite exciting the first time around and always interesting to see what your friends think about it. It is different and appealing.

Now, over to my request. We all know how strong some Amiga soundtracks where and Hero Quest has one of the best songs ever. The intro! This is partly why I played this so much, had to run it to hear this tune and it got me in the mood to play.

Is there anyone with the abilibty to rip a wav or mp3 of the Amiga versions intro theme?
It's freaking great and I'd love to have it on my cell.
Where it will be battling the likes of Speedball 2 intro and Commando High score for main tune status =)

Been searching the web for it. Found a NES version which was useless in comparsion to Amiga tune. It is on youtube also, if one can rip sound from there somehow I don't know, but here is link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uh1K-Y4hF00

Is there a way to keep track at what and where you write on this forum? I'm pretty new here.

Use Winamp to play the MOD file (you can find MODs with the music from Amiga version of Hero Quest easily, if not then I can supply you with them) and set output to its "Nullsoft Disk Writer" plugin to transcode the modules into wave files. Then you just need Foobar2000 and a reasonably recent version of the LAME codec to encode them into MP3.
Why this way? The LAME encoder plugin for WinAmp doesn't produce particularly good encodes IMO, while the MOD reader plugin of Foobar2000 produces dull-sounding output.

"New Posts" (at the top of the board) is quite helpful.

Thank you for tip about the mod, I look forward to testing this when I have time!

What I mean by keeping track is if I write three or four posts in different threads that may contain questions and such. If there are new answers in these specific threads, how will I remember where I was if I come back let's say one week later?

Awesome...I never thought I'd play Hero Quest again. I remember playing with my dad and brothers almost 20 years ago. Even though I was really too young to be of much help, it was so fun that I was hooked on RPGs (and especially dungeon crawlers) for the rest of my life. From there it was on to Wizardry, up through Baldur's Gate, and on to our current lack of good RPGs. Thanks to abandonia, I can still play decent games.
