Yep, I agree with Wormpaul. Monkey Island is classic and it should be on site even though it's not abandonware! k:

I think they should be there, as long as it's only for really, really good games, and there aren't too many of them. Maybe there could be a more noticable sign in the list pages to indicate it can't be downloaded (You can tell by the N/A on the Size bit, but not everyone looks at that)

I think this is a good thing, as long as we don't put too many of them. Games like Monkey Island, DotT and such games deserve to be here.
And if I'm not mistaken, you could search for those titles on a search engine (google, yahoo, alta vista for example), and you'd get a link to the review on Abandonia. But I'm not completely sure, but if that's the fact, then of course this gives us more visitors. They'll see the quality of the review, and maybe decide to browse the site a bit.. download couple of games.. see how great this all is... decide to contribute... you know the drill

When they cant find the game on our site they will look at other site`s who are willing to put illegal games up...

and then we lost those visitors...and that may not happen k:

BUT
it's not our problem what other sites have or don't have.
But if people are in fact looking for a place to download (let's say) Monkey Island 1, and they google it, and find us. Then they've seen this site, and who knows, find many good abandoned games available for download, they might fall in love with the site. But if they continue the search for the illegal warez, it's not our problem.

Are you saying that lying to people luring them to the site thinking they can download a game but in fact they can only read a review is OK? :blink:

Let's look at the arguments:
- You think maybe they'll fall in love with the site? Off course not, they will HATE you for lying to them.
- You think those games deserve a review? Off course they do, but not among abandonware games. Make a separate chapter about legendary games that are still not available for download and review them. Or just make it more clear that those games are for sale. There's nothing worse than the dissapointment.

I love this site for many reasons but it's losing it's purity.
Abandonia IMO should have abandonware games, period. There are much much more games still for sale that are not reviewed here. Who cares about them? You can't review them all, so why bother reviewing only some of them?

There are games that deserve to be reviewed, even though they are not abw.It shows you respect the authors(or whoever has the copyright rights).We are not lying to anybody, we just show how much we respect the authors.
We don't get money from the sites we link to, so we just want to let people know about this game(if they don't know about it already).We are just following the rules!

There is a point to this. Since the games aren't ABW it IS confusing for them to be on the site. There's no lying involved, but since 99 out of 100 games on Abandonia is available for download, the ones that aren't really should be in a different section. That way there can be no confusion and/or dissapointment form casual visitors... But this discussion really should be in Site Comments/Suggestion I think...
