Some of his books have actually been banned.
For example, in Germany "I Have No Mouth..." was banned because of Nimdok and Benny, supposedly, the giant crotch story and Nimdok's nazi background was too much.

I've played the game. It's really eerie. It puts you in a depressed mood. The game is really well done "atmosphere-wise", but the puzzles are just weird. Maybe it's because I haven't read the books that I feel that way...

No, the puzzles were one of the game's flaws, they didn't make much logical sense.
Yet, many still believe it to be a great game, including me. The game had the sames storyline as the book, but with a slightly more optimistic ending. But if you wanted to you could get the "No Mouth" ending, just kill all the other people that you control, and AM will get pissed and have his weird way with you.

OK, I read the story. It was very well-written, but then everything from a professional author should be well-written. The plot didn't do much for me, though. Perhaps if I'd been alive in 1967 and read it then, I'd have a different reaction to it, but it seems that nowadays you can't swing a dead optical mouse without hitting a story about Those Evil Computers and how they will be the ruin of humanity.

A bunch of dudes built AM, they're all dead now, LOL.
Is pretty good, although he has an irregular pattern in the on-off code (binary).
