I cant make the game work with win xp !
all those files i downloaded from that site wont run ! they just open a dos window and closes it without saying nothing !

It's moments like this that I realize no level of re-orginization, no amount of buttons or signs or graphic design will ever stop the dumb questions from rolling in that 5thHM ends up answering.

I cant use DOSbox because the game runs very slow with dosbox !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, go back and read the first few pages of posts. I think at the bottom it mentions Zdoom or something. I downloaded it and it plays this game perfectly in XP.

You can actually make the game run in windows XP but you have to set all the soundfx off and set the graphix to 640x480 (well it works for me anyways) - you can get it to run with VDMSound but its a bit picky with your sound card settings and lastly it will work well in dosbox but the sounds a bit choppy ---- if it runs slowly just set the cpu cycle up (think its ctrl +f8) correct me if im wrong.

lastly if you really and I mean really want to play the game with no problems at all just dig out your old copy of windows 98 and do a dual windows install (please dont ask me how it's done... I'll just say 'use google and find out), that works perfectly!

Only problem is your hard drive has to be formatted in FAT32 before you attempt to install windows 98 or u are screwed :wallbash:

Damn I just read a few posts back and found out that Ive repeated everything the fith horseman has (LOL sorry)

Also the movie files wont work unless you Docter one of the CFG files I think... Let me just quickly install it (hehehe I got the origonal 2 cd addition with the origonal sound tracks too :bleh: )
Ill post another one shortly explaining how to make the movies work.

Ok open up the file in your Blood directory called blood.cfg

you should see the following writing in it somewhere in episode 1-4 (ill use episode 1 as an example)

CutSceneA=D:\movie\cs1.smk
CutWavA=D:\movie\cs1822m.wav
; The following line was set by the install program
CutSceneB=D:\movie\cs2.smk
CutWavB=D:\movie\cs2822m.wav

Ok now im not too sure what your files look like if you downloaded them from the site, or if you have the CD but want the movies to run from your hard drive then use the following steps to correct it.

copy the movies into your blood directory (they are in under 'movie' in your cd-rom directy if you have the C.D - if you have downloaded them then make and copy them into this directory)

then all you have to do is change them to the following

Episode1]
; The following line was set by the install program
CutSceneA=C:\Blood\movie\cs1.smk
CutWavA=C:\Blood\movie\cs1822m.wav
; The following line was set by the install program
CutSceneB=C:\Blood\movie\cs2.smk
CutWavB=C:\Blood\movie\cs2822m.wav

notice all you have to do is put a C where the D was and add Blood\ in front of Movie
if your Hard drive is not C, then just put in the appropriate letter (for egsample my main hard drive is F :blink: and my C drive is my secondary hard drive :blink: :blink: :blink: :blink: )

just do the same for episode 2,3 and 4.

I'm having quite a few problems, it only plays the intro, then it sticks on the Blood and music...do I just wait or , ?

Do these work with zdoom? I'm going to have to try them. Nothing better than getting to zip straight to the end of a game without playing it.
