![]() How to install Xmms Player?
I have downloaded it, now how to install it? See, it was in .TAR format, with a lot of files inside, most text (or actually C files). Now using alien command, I converted it into .DEB format for proper installation. Then using the sudo dpkg -i xmms.deb command, I installed it. Installation was sucessful. Then I went in the Synaptic Manager to see if it was detected and yes it was. SO I think I have done it properly. But the thing is, where is the Xmms player actually so that I can start listening songs in it? I noticed that there is a folder of XMMS in my root directory of FileSystem. How can I execute the program? please help.

![]() hmm you can install xmms thorugh synaptic in the first place.
No need to convert or download a thing. You may need to add a few download sources to find it. They way you did it it know is not the way it's intended. alien is to be used when there is no native package for debian/ubuntu. But there is one. I'm using it myself.
