Both the fights and the riddles in MM3 are harder than in WoX.

The mirrors do work, you just have to find out the codes for your destinations. They are written on the walls of the town somewhere, you should have seen them while exploring.

The game doesn't write down as much in its auto-notes as WoX does so I recommend using pen and paper or a text editor to write down the notes.
